American Civil War

edit

In the US Navy at the time of the Civil War, the fleet captain was the senior aide to the flag officer or admiral. I do not know when the term was introduced, nor how long it persisted. PKKloeppel (talk) 13:55, 18 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

CANDIDATE FOR DELETION

edit

This article has been around long enough without any references and without citing any sources. If you've got sources to cite that can back up the assertions in the article, it's well past time that you provide them. Otherwise, it goes in the trash can. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Deletion_policy for the rules regarding deletion. Allthenamesarealreadytaken (talk) 12:58, 27 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Proposed merge

edit

This article and captain of the fleet appear to cover the same topic. Honestly, the merge just as easily could go either way, but this one seems to have more talk page engagement, hence I'm posting here. -- Avocado (talk) 00:48, 25 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
