Reverting Edits

edit

I removed the following edit, which basically reverted the paragraph to its prior state:

They are always asked by the experts why they want to sell their possession. The simple answer is cash, but the ritual demands a specific, pressing reason, and these vary from a Spanish holiday to lagging the loft. The experts invariably manage to radiate the sense that these people are idiots for swapping a piece of history for a piece of Benidorm.

I found this extremely condescending - if the author can find a way to put this in a less-insulting, more-intelligent way, be my guest. Anrie 07:37, 30 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Presenter

edit

I remember seeing a few (a very few) episodes with Kate Bliss presenting, instead of Paul Martin. I don't know why that happened but it did. It was probably only half a dozen episodes out of the hundreds they've made. --79.71.196.63 (talk) 16:49, 24 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Production

edit

Not sure how to change this or word it better, but BBC HD no longer exists so the BBC 2 timeslot now either shows HD episodes or upscaled reversions of SD repeats. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.193.189.136 (talk) 19:24, 22 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Questionable language.

edit

I cut a sentence from the lead which appeared to be contemptous of the people taking part. I'll leave it here in case someone wishes to reincorporate it, although I think the sentiment is ill suited to Wikipedia. "The "Flog It!" guests are less coy than their "Antiques Roadshow" equivalents about making a buck from their family heirlooms."IrishStephen (talk) 18:26, 23 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

Flog It is the blue collar cousin of Antiques roadshow. The participants are generally people hoping to make a few quid from unwanted items. Antiques Roadshow is more about people exhibiting their treasures. Stub Mandrel (talk) 17:53, 10 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
