That is not correct. The Institute is not part of one university. It began 25 years ago at one university, but later was set up and funded by the Florida Legislature as an independent organization, with federal and private grants totaling in the millions of dollars.

When was this organization founded?

The two sources listed for the 1990 start year do not actually mention the year the institution was founded. I believe this information is incorrect. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 150.176.9.254 (talk) 19:22, 11 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
