If memory serves me correctly, the north-south segment was to have received an odd-numbered FDOT designation - and the number was assigned - as its construction was begun but before the decision to connect it with SR 826 (and taking that number). Does anybody remember the the proposed designation? B.Wind 21:24, 5 November 2005 (UTC)Reply

Why "Palmetto" ? -- Beardo (talk) 16:24, 29 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Most of the corridor was built on 77th avenue. Also know as Palmetto Road. I believe it was Palmetto Road or Palmetto Ave. The streets that run along the expressway on the West side are mostly marked with numbers but if you go to the Kendal area some of the streets are still marked Palmetto. 77th avenue past the expressways southern terminus is also still marked as Palmetto Road (or avenue i forget which) DingoateMyBabyyy 14:30, 25 December 2009 (UTC)

I'm not doing anything else tonight, might as well review an article. TCN7JM 05:17, 13 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

  1. Links like "Dolphin Expressway (SR 836)" look kind of awkward. I'd link either Dolphin Expressway or SR 836, not both. This is done more than once in the article.
  2. The highway seems to pass north of Florida Memorial University, not through it.
  3. For clarity, I would reword the sentence to say the route forms the northern border of the campus of St. Thomas University.
  4. "Left" and "right" are ambiguous terms and should be avoided. I'm specifically referring to the last paragraph of the route description. Use compass directions instead.
  5. Should use a conversion template for "ten miles" in the history.
  6. The first and fourth paragraphs in the history are unsourced entirely. Sources need to be cited for the statements in them.
  7. I would try to find a replacement for the picture in the future section. The current one has a bit too much glare; it's even noticeable as small as the picture is in the article.

These are the only issues I have with the article. I will put this on hold for you to fix them. TCN7JM 06:56, 13 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

  • I have made changes to the article as per your recommendations. Unfortunately, as I am not a nearby resident (such are the joys of living on the other side of the world), I cannot use a royalty-free or fair-use image like the one in the Future section, so I have removed it from display. Also, I hope that I have cited the 1945 renumbering of Florida State Roads act/bill correctly, as a source for the first paragraph of the History section. -DyluckTRocket (talk) 10:11, 13 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
I do believe you've misconstrued one of my recommendations. What I meant for you to do regarding the first point was to leave the SR designations in the article in parentheses next to the named designations, but to remove them from the link. Though I can see how this could have been misunderstood to mean to remove the SR designations entirely. (Example: Dolphin Expressway (SR 836)) TCN7JM 10:28, 13 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
I believe that should be fixed now. I didn't add on dual designations for the sections past the Route Description for the sake of simplicity, as I believe the use of both terms when the road's first introduced in the article allows for interchangeability in terminology later on. -DyluckTRocket (talk) 03:13, 14 September 2013 (UTC)Reply
Alright, that looks better. I will pass this article now. Good job. TCN7JM 12:52, 14 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

Updates needed

edit

It's all well and cute to make the canned improvements needed to reach GA status, but the article has hardly been touched since 2013. Express lanes are coming, the Dolphin Palmetto Interchange is major, and the stat of over 400,000 vehicles here is unmentioned. B137 (talk) 22:11, 2 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

I'm actually planning to revisit this article very soon. Thank you very much for mentioning those things as they'll be good things to update the article with. -DyluckTRocket (talk) 10:33, 3 December 2015 (UTC)Reply
