Lyonia Preserve

edit

Lyonia preserve has many scrub jay counts, and is an active part of their restoration process. Where is the mention of their work.

The double-catting of Category:Florida and Category:Avifauna of Florida is deliberate; while the latter is the "All Birds In Florida" cat, Florida's only endemic bird species deserves a little more respect. :-) - Aerobird 15:57, 5 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

I agree. "Florida" cat was rm, put it back in. Dysmorodrepanis 16:25, 11 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Florida Scrub Jay photo

edit

Is anyone else bothered by the color of the bird in the photo currently included with this article - "Florida_Scrub_Jay.jpg"? It's an extremely vivid blue, much brighter than I have seen on a live specimen. I am tempted to use PhotoShop to create another version that more closely matches other published photos. I agree that the coloration of the bird in the previous photo was not a good representation of the way the bird looks in person. I replaced the original photo with a photo I took in Lyonia Preserve that I believe is a much better representation of the bird's true color. I don't want to completely omit the previous photo from the article, but I don't think it should be the photo that appears at the top of the page and I don't know what else to do with it. Maybe we can start a "Gallery" category on this page? VvAndromedavV 11:11, 9 August 2008 (UTC)
Can you pinpoint the locations of where you took the bird photos on the image pages, more precisely than just "Florida?" We might be able to use the photos on other pages if we knew the locations. Gamweb (talk) 20:22, 13 October 2008 (UTC)nicholas woodsReply
