I'm new to wiki, so don't know how this works: but I felt like I'd read this article somewhere else before.

Animalia.bio/fluttering-sheerwater is almost word for word of this article.

Animalia isn't on the mirror list - but how do you tell if wiki copies that site or visa-versa?

Not wanting to cast aspersions anyone who has put work into this page!

My initial opinion is that the Animalia.bio site has taken extensive amounts of the content from the Wikipedia article. I note that the Animalia.bio article actually cites the Wikipedia article as a source. While not conclusive, it is interesting that the Animalia.bio page has not been archived by the Internet Archive. This suggests it is relatively recent. On the page https://animalia.bio/about, it states that the decision to create the Animali.bio site was made in 2015. Although the Wikipedia article was significantly expanded in May 2019, the article dates from 2007. The additions in 2019 included citations. So at this stage, I haven't found conclusive evidence that the Wikipedia article includes content taken from Animalia.bio, and think it more likely that the reverse has occurred.Marshelec (talk) 05:38, 28 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
