Principle

@Gurther Your so-called principle still doesn't apply here. The first sentence of the article describes the work in present tense. It's a work that still exists today, doesn't matter when it was firstly published. StephenMacky1 (talk) 10:13, 12 March 2023 (UTC)

This page mostly focuses on the history of the work, its structure and its influence in folk culture and its mostly focused in past tense, the Serbian translation is also in past tense, so why all the sudden is the Macedonian not allowed? Secondly the first sentence is in present while most of the wiki is written in past tense which is why it would be more accurate if its "Македонски" Gurther (talk) 10:18, 12 March 2023 (UTC)

it very much does, since English and Macedonian do not have the same structure directly translating it to English sometimes may be faulty, also Wikipedia has a rule for this type of stuff the name of articles (and if i remember correctly translations too) depend on how the media is mostly known as, in almost all Macedonian books it's refered to as "Македонски Егзархи" or "Македонски Бугари" or sometimes as "Македонски Народни Песни/Приказни" Gurther (talk) 10:41, 12 March 2023 (UTC)

Also something ive noticed, the more common name is actually "Makedonski Narodni Pesni" its used a lot more in media rather then "Narodni Pesni na Makedonski Bugari" here are examples :

I've encountered Macedonian sources that use the -те for the title. By the way, WP:COMMONNAME only applies for English-language sources. "Macedonian Folk Songs" is broad too, there are other books going by that title as well. StephenMacky1 (talk) 12:00, 12 March 2023 (UTC)

Yes there are ones who use the te, but a good majority write it without a te

Ive checked the wiki and it does state that but the problem is with the te its grammatically wrong a direct translation with the te would be : "Folk songs of Macedonians Bulgarian" which is still technically correct spelling but it lacks proper structure, also its a simple remove of te i have no idea why we've caused such a ruckus over a simple grammar correction, which is why i suggest to just keep the Te and end this argument.
