editThe following sentence is questionable: "Fontaine Ferry is often cited bitterly as a reminder of racial segregation in Louisville. Prior to its integration in 1964, African Americans could only attend the much less elaborate Chickasaw Park.[2]" The statement probably means to refer to Shawnee Park (a nearby segregated public park) rather than Fontaine Ferry Park (a private amusement park) and should be in that article rather than this one. There was no amusement park comparable to Fountaine Ferry for Blacks. There was, however, a public park comparable to Shawnee Park for Blacks: Chickasaw Park. Wall of Death motodrome in Fontaine Ferry
editI grew up in Bardstown and in the mid sixties would take the bus with friends to Louisville to go to the park. I remember there was a wooden motodrome (Wall of Death) that motorcyclists would ride in - I remember them coming to the top of the deep cylinder, nearly coming out. Do any other contributors remember that at the park. It would be helpful to have more detail about some of the attractions there. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Pmchaffie (talk • contribs) 03:12, 11 September 2015 (UTC)
