Hello all, I have created this article after seeing it listed in Requested Articles. I believe it is notable as it is a concept that is increasingly used in discussions of health and nutrition, especially with regards to government policy, education and research.

Current wordcount of the article according to prozesize is 794 words.

List of things to work on (no particular order):

general expansion and improvement based on the multitude of academic sources
add section "Assessing food literacy", e.g. apps and questionnaires developed by various academics
expand "Improving food literacy" section, possibly rename to "Policy"
add section on "Other effects of low food literacy" to include effects such as food waste and food misuse
add section "Worldwide" with sections to talk about food literacy in specific regions/countries, especially since food literacy is so context-dependent (social, cultural etc)
