"Morlocks"?
editWhy are the villains (or at least some of the villains) referred to as Morlocks? I read about the Morlocks in another article and the "Morlocks" from Mystic Force are nothing like the true Morlocks mentioned in the article. How did the term "Morlock" come about anyway? I know that originally the Hidiacs (and maybe the Styxoids too) were going to be referred to as Morlocks but how did the name come about for the whole villains group? They are never called "Morlocks" in the show at all. And where did someone find out that the Master of the Underworld's name is Octomus?
I don't watch the show much being 15 but I heard the Forces of Darkness being collectively referred to as the Morlocks elsewhere on Wikipedia so I put in that they are also known as the Morlocks. Maybe that's what they were going to be called originally but the HG Wells estate wouldn't let Saban use it so they changed the name of the villains to just Forces of Darkness. I've never heard the Master be referred to as Octomus though but someone has removed all references to that name from the article.
- Morlocks was the name given for the enemy forces in pre-show material, like casting calls, advertisements, and company statements. Octomus was the name given for the Master in the description of one of the episodes downloadable on iTunes. Neither name was ever used in the show, making them both irrelevant according to WP:V, since in general the PR article editors try to only use information that came from the show itself. If Morlocks really is used elsewhere on Wikipedia in reference to the MF enemies, it needs to be removed. Arrow 21:11, 6 January 2007 (UTC)
Ten Terrors
editShould the Ten Terrors really be on this page? I really think they should go to the monsters page instead. 12.37.71.144 01:42, 6 August 2006 (UTC)
- The Ten Terrors are major villains (at least in Magiranger, the Infershia Pantheon were), and they are all taking the place of Imperious after the end of Heir Apparent Part II. Ryūlóng 01:54, 6 August 2006 (UTC)
Dude, I haven't seen Heir Apparent II yet, you mean Imperious dies, and then in The Light, he's replaced by the Terrors? 12.37.71.144 02:08, 6 August 2006 (UTC)
- Heir Apparent II has not aired anywhere yet, however the information is based off of the timeline of Mahou Sentai Magiranger in which Meemy (Imperious) is defeated, and then the Infershia Pantheon (Ten Terrors) begin their campaign against the Magirangers (Mystic Force Power Rangers). Ryūlóng 02:12, 6 August 2006 (UTC)
Oh, okay. Thanks for clearing this up. 12.37.71.144 02:19, 6 August 2006 (UTC)
- You are welcome. Ryūlóng 02:21, 6 August 2006 (UTC)
I really dislike how they portray the Ten Terrors, I've personally seen all episodes of Magiranger, and I personally like how they portrayed the Infershia Pantheon more, if it were up to me I would have kept some of their names like Drake and Dagon, they also make them seem idiotic, they've completely taken away Sleipnir's dignity. I certainly don't like Geckor/Wyvern's voice in Mystic Force, Titan/Columbo's voice is somewhat good, of course I would have him and/or Sleipnir voiced by Geoff Dolan like he did with Koragg. I also would have made Dagon/Iron Scorpin sound more like his Japanese self, having a deep and omnious voice.Unknown Dragon 23:22, 7 August 2006 (UTC)
- But that is not what this conversation is about. Wikipedia's talk pages are for discussing changes to the article; not our personal issues with what the article is about. However...are we sure it's "Iron Scorpin"? I thought I heard "I am Scorpin." Ryūlóng 23:56, 7 August 2006 (UTC)
I couldn't tell either. Titan's American Counterpart's name though sounded different than "Columbo".
Say, what is a "Sculpin" anyway? Whenever I click on the link it sends me to a page discussing a species of fish but it doesn't seem the word "Sculpin" has to do with the fish's name, how did Sculpin of the Ten Terrors get his name?Unknown Dragon 00:49, 20 September 2006 (UTC)
- Might help to look a little closer before you give up. Eyes and brains, Watson. Anyway, you were sent to Cottidae from the once redirect page Sculpin. I reverted the edit to make it an article page again, as that seems to be more easily understood. Anyway, before all that, the Cottidae article clearly states that "Each species of the Cottidae is a type of sculpin." (Bolding added for foolproofiness.) It also has cool pictures. Clearly, the name is based on the character's head looking something like the fish. Also, very humorous misinterpretation of Titan's dub name. ACS (Wikipedian); Talk to the Ace. See what I've edited. 01:45, 20 September 2006 (UTC)
Does anyone know how they came up with Hekatoid and Matoombo's names? I'm guessing that for Hekatoid they took "Heck" (as in a more child-appropriate way of saying "Hell") and simply added "toid". But what about Matoombo? Unknown Dragon 19:36, 10 November 2006 (UTC)
Itassis
editIn the episode description for Mystic Fate pt. 1, it say that 'Ditching whatever little remains of the Ten Terrors, Itassis joins the side of good.'— Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.96.152.170 (talk • contribs) 21:36, October 30, 2006
Yes, just like her Japanese counterpart, Itassis will join the rangers. However, I wonder how her and Necrolai will end up since in MagiRanger they became the new leaders of Infershia. ShadowRanger 17:02, October 30, 2006
- We're waiting for the episodes to air, okay?—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 23:15, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
I also saw in the Promo Daggeron was fighting Megahorn, so Megahorn makes a comeback? I am anticipating the finale and can't wait to see how everything ends. But seriously, N Ma's name still hasn't been mentioned in the show, and we still don't know for sure if Octomus is his Mystic Force name. Unknown Dragon 01:49, 2 November 2006 (UTC)
