Sanctions

edit

It should be noted that the U.S. has sanctions against Syria. [1] -- Beland 05:50, 28 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

"achieving a comprehensive Arab-Israeli peace settlement" Is there a source for this? As far as I know Syria has always rejected peace offers and treaties, before and after it lost the Golan Heights. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.79.42.185 (talk) 12:00, 27 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Misinformation regarding countries friendly to Syria

edit

Quote from wiki text (as it currently reads):

"Other countries that presently maintain steady relations with Syria include China, Afghanistan, Ukraine, North Korea, Cuba, Venezuela, India, Pakistan, Brazil, Bolivia, Ecuador[2] and Nicaragua[3]. From among the Arab League states, Syria continues to have good relations with Iraq, Algeria, Sudan, Yemen, Mauritania, Morocco, Palestinian National Authority, and Lebanon."

Editor 76.173.132.206, you keep inserting names of countries which are supposedly friendly with Syria, but who are anything but supporters of the Assad regime. Just because a particular country has not declared war on Syria, or has not used the strongest possible language to condemn the regime, it does not mean that that country is friendly toward the Syrian govt. You have not provided evidence to show that most of these countries are favourably predisposed towards the current govt. For eg. India is not. If Sudan, Yemen, Mauritania, Morocco and PNA enjoy good relations with the current regime, why did they vote to suspend Syria from the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (2012) and why did they support the measures of the Arab League to encourage member states to provide military assistance to the Syrian rebels and support Syria's seat in the League to be filled by the National Coalition for Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces (2013). Please cease from providing information on this subject, unless you have good sources to support your claims Mrodowicz (talk) 08:56, 6 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

India

edit

Unfortunately, there is no mention of India in the whole article of Syria foreign relations. India has almost a quarter World Population, i.e., Quarter of the main objective of the article which I assume is relationship of the people of Syria with people of World is omitted. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 180.215.113.49 (talk) 06:24, 21 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

Turkey

edit

I'm still relatively new to Wikipedia and can't seem to find a way to edit the section about Turkey (the Asia section stops at South Ossetia). I think the uncited section that says Turkey cooperates with Islamic State needs removing, in my view, without a decent citation.
