Trade policy of the United States merger
edit- The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section. A summary of the conclusions reached follows.
- The result was merge into Foreign trade of the United States. -- Slon02 (talk) 13:14, 27 August 2011 (UTC)
I've noticed that the article trade policy of the United States was proposed for merging into this article. I support this merger. There is significant overlap between the content that the two articles cover. The article on trade policy itself isn't really a well-developed article anyway, and I don't see it being developed much soon. Mostly all that it covers is a brief history of U.S. trade-related actions (mostly unsourced), and offers a description of the constitutional powers granted to the government to control trade policy. This could easily be handled in one or two sections in this article- either a "trade policy" section or "trade policy" and "history" sections. --Slon02 (talk) 12:59, 16 August 2011 (UTC)
Largest trading partner
editThe section on trade policy, last paragraph, names China as the biggest trade partner. According to List of the largest trading partners of the United States and other sources besides, it is in fact Canada. (Imports from China are slightly larger, but exports to Canada are 4-5x more.) Correcting just that sentence would render the paragraph incoherent; should it just be deleted? 72.81.233.106 (talk) 20:44, 17 October 2014 (UTC)
