Do we know the number of living bears? – Kaihsu (talk) 13:17, 13 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

A few suggestions on what to do next to improve the article

edit

I already gave the article a makeover, but there is still a lot that needs to be done and fixed.

  1. Of the first 5 sentences in the "Physical Characteristics" section, 4 start with "Its..." .
  2. The bear's measurements and speed need to be converted to feet, inches, pounds, and miles per hour and put in parenthesis for the non-metric people.
  3. Height and weight need to be provided.
  4. The activity percentages in "Habitat and Behavior" need a reference. The one source I looked up contradicted the activity %s.
  5. This one source is reliable (I think) and has good info about height, weight, and gestation, which need to be added.

I don't feel like listing things beyond the intro paragraph and first three sections. The wording of the sentences, while mostly acceptable, does not live up to Wiki standards, and in some places is awkward and downright juvenile. I will figure out how to get this article on a Cleanup list because I have neither the desire, nor the know-how to do it myself. Gatorgirl7563 (talk) 19:46, 31 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

IUCN status?

edit

I can't seem to find this subspecies on the IUCN Red List, only the whole species of Asiatic black bear, which is listed as Vulnerable instead of Endangered. Am I missing something? Yel D'ohan (talk) 18:07, 12 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

Photo labels : Dots at end of sentence ?

edit

None of the photos' labels has a dot at its label's end. Normal ? Yug (talk) 15:11, 30 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

If the label is a full sentence, then it should have a period (full stop, dot) at the end, but not if it's just a fragment. See MOS:CAPTION. I hope that helps. SchreiberBike | ⌨  19:21, 30 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
