editHello. Would it be relevant/appropriate to add in that an eco-tours company is based here which operates tours to see platypuses in addition to the local flora and fauna? I've been on the tour and it's excellent - a great way to enlighten visitors and encourage tourism, without damaging the environment. I have a citation source from an official site and they also have their own website. Aussiewriter (talk) 19:29, 27 June 2009 (UTC)
- It depends largely on what your source is, if it is tourism promotion site, probably not. Added information needs to be sourced from reliable independent third party sources.--Melburnian (talk) 06:39, 30 June 2009 (UTC) =. Melburnian (talk) 06:39, 30 June 2009 (UTC)
- the source is the official government site for the region - is that not acceptable?Aussiewriter (talk) 21:25, 30 June 2009 (UTC)
- I think it's more relevant to the article Great Otway National Park; a mention could be made about Lake Elizabeth and platypuses and that canoe tours are conducted there, but , in my opinion, the company name should not be mentioned. Melburnian (talk) 03:08, 1 July 2009 (UTC)

- A picture of a platypus might be appropriate then? Aussiewriter (talk) 19:31, 27 June 2009 (UTC)
- I don't think so, unless it was actually taken in Forrest, otherwise it could be a bit misleading. --06:39, 30 June 2009 (UTC)Melburnian (talk)
- I'm sorry, I should have clarified - a picture of a platypus from one of the tours provided by the company that runs the tours.Aussiewriter (talk) 21:25, 30 June 2009 (UTC)
- The article it could be used for may depend on where it was taken, but generally speaking we have very few pictures of platypuses in the wild [1], and a good picture uploaded to Wikimedia Commons has a good chance of being used in an article somewhere. Melburnian (talk) 03:08, 1 July 2009 (UTC)
