Ideas?
editIve just altered the structure and added some new content here. I think it would be a good idea to expand the tourism section as much as possible, would be great if someone had some stats and popluation increases or business data during tourist season....
Also would be great to have a greater description of all the beaches... Jpk82 23:11, 18 April 2007 (UTC)
Foster
editAny explanation why it's pronounced Foster?--Jack Upland (talk) 18:14, 22 December 2009 (UTC)
- I haven't found anything official but the simple answer is probably that it rolls off the tongue more easily than Forster. Mispronunciation of locality names seems relatively common in the region. Several kilometres south, Nelson Bay is regularly referred to as "Nelson's Bay" and One Mile is regularly referred to as One Mile Beach. --AussieLegend (talk) 22:33, 22 December 2009 (UTC)
Forster Tuncurry or Forster?
editLocals do call the town as Forster but sometimes combine the north and south river banks and say 'Forster Tuncurry'. Should there be a mention in intro or separate article for Forster Tuncurry considering it's not that uncommon to mention them together. This is local knowledge that is out colloquialism tho it is however a bit tough to find sources that explicitly mention it. [1] 49.180.162.17 (talk) 02:52, 13 June 2024 (UTC)
