It says hundreds, now I cannot find a ref, but I imagine it is higher than that, hell, I was once there and there were a hundred people that day at least. If anyone can find a reference.... Dbrodbeck (talk) 19:44, 29 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Fort Michilimackinac is incorrect

edit

The article mentions, several times, "Fort Michilimackinac" and claims that Fort St Joseph was build after the British vacated Fort Michilimackinac on Mackinac Island. This is incorrect. Fort Michilimackinac was located on the mainland of Michigan, not an Island. Fort Michilimackinac was abandoned in 1783 (the same year as the treaty was signed) by all forces. Fort Michilimackinac did not exist when the war of 1812 commenced. So, the British could not have attacked it. I think Fort Mackinac (built on Mackinac Island in 1781) is the proper fort in this case. I apologize in advance, I do not know how to edit wikipedia articles.
