Talk:Fosinopril

There are a number of searches that redirect to this page incorrectly. Several of them are based on a different drug; hydrochlorothiazide. When you begin to type hydrochlorothiazide into the search, a variety of topics all pop up including: hydrochloro thiazide, hydrochloro Thiazide, hydrochloro-thiazide, and hydrochloro- thiazide. When these are selected they are redirected to the Fosinopril site. hydrochlorothiazide is a different drug than Fosinopril and has its own wiki page. Anyone searching for hydrocholorothiazide is likely to be sent to Fosinopril incorrectly and believe that Fosinopril is the brand name for hydrochlorothiazide. Errors of this type are extremely dangerous as patients may use wikipedia as a source for information concerning side effects or contra-indications.

Done Well spotted - thanks - Fosinopril/hydrochlorothiazide is the combination of the ACE inhibitor and separately a thiazide. Combinations redirecting to just one component indeed seem wrong (unless the main article happens to mention in detail use in combination , which in this case Fosinopril article does not). I've therefore made teh combination article stub/disambiguation page and fixed teh redirects. David Ruben Talk 15:26, 2 September 2008 (UTC)Reply
