Just a note that I popped over from my perch at WP:OLDWEST and did a little copyediting, hope it helped, toss it if it didn't. Montanabw(talk) 17:56, 24 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

All the episodes are on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vqLyY4zQOjk REVUpminster (talk) 17:16, 25 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

I know, I've been watching them to help with writing the episode summaries. Any idea what the copyright situation is? George Ponderevo (talk) 21:44, 25 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • No not really. In america they seem to work on a 50 year rule but network DVD are usuaally quick to have them taken down. perhaps they have not noticed.REVUpminster (talk) 23:12, 25 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
I think a 50-year rule applies in the UK as well, but I wouldn't want to bet the mortgage on it. If you feel more confident than I do then feel free to add the link. George Ponderevo (talk) 02:20, 26 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • In the UK, copyright in a broadcast is 50 years, so if you had video recordings of the *original broadcasts* of FFF in 1960 (not just copies of the episodes, but recordings of the actual original broadcasts), it's been legal to share them since 2010.

However, it wouldn't be legal to sell or otherwise commercially exploit those hypothetical recordings from 1960 as the scripts and music are still in copyright and remain so until 70 years from the death of the scriptwriter(s) and composer(s) (under current UK copyright law). Barry Gray died in 1984 so FFF's music remains in copyright until 2054, and the scriptwriters died at varying times between 1994 and 2011, so different episodes will fall completely into the public domain at different times. The earliest will be 2064 and the latest will be 2081.86.141.110.39 (talk) 00:00, 30 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

British TV repeats

edit

The article is incorrect to state that the show was never repeated after its original run. Examination of TV listings reveals that it was repeated sporadically on a regional basis until 1968.86.141.110.39 (talk) 23:38, 29 January 2020 (UTC)Reply
