- In my opinion it should most definately be merged, most people in Thornhill wouldn't know where it was as it is not notable.--J3Mrs (talk) 16:47, 8 October 2010 (UTC)
- I disagree, any location should have it's own page Hamish Griffin (talk) 19:40, 8 October 2010 (UTC)
- You surely don't mean any location, an address isn't neccessarily notable. Of course any notable location should have an article providing proper references can be found and there's something worth saying about it and I don't mean a page in the A-Z or even a local school or pub.--J3Mrs (talk) 19:46, 8 October 2010 (UTC)

Just thought I'd throw my 2 bob's worth.... I was brought up in Thornhill Edge so know the area quite well. 'Foxroyd' to me was 'Foxroyd Lane Estate' - a small council housing estate at the top of Edge Top Road, which is why there are several roads together called 'Foxroyd Lane' but to me it was never a separate hamlet, rather part of Thornhill.. Geographically it is not near Howroyd Beck either, as Thornhill Edge and Lower Whitley abut it. Yes there is a wood known locally as Foxroyd Wood/Shrogg, this is all POV and I have not been able to find any historical evidence of a hamlet or even a farm called Foxroyd.....Until I discovered this recent map:- http://www.lgbce.org.uk/__documents/lgbce-documents/all-reviews/yorkshire-and-humberside/west-yorkshire/kirklees/kir_f_sh6_web_10136-8185__e__.pdf from the 'Local Government Boundary Commission for England, which appears to put 'Foxroyd' as a place. - Thank you I have changed it.--J3Mrs (talk) 08:59, 11 October 2010 (UTC)
