Plot summaries
editI am copying these from the main page, as they are too long and detailed (contravene copyright and WP:EPISODE style guide. Can be worked on here then returned to the main page.Gwinva 15:33, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
- I have blanked these (since no-one has used them in over 10 years and newer simpler plots have subsequently been crafted). They can, of course, still be viewed and accessed via this page's history tab. Jabberjawjapan (talk) 06:29, 19 August 2017 (UTC)
Lifting material from other sites
editI would appreciate it summaries are not lifted in their entirety from www.foyleswar.com, ie, Eagle Day is directly from http://www.foyleswar.com/episodes/104/104.htm and whoever lifted it didn't even bother to edit out the 'click here'! Florrie 00:15, 26 July 2007 (UTC)
- These episodes have now been totally rewritten and re-edited (by myself) so this should not be a problem anymore. Jabberjawjapan (talk) 06:37, 19 August 2017 (UTC)
Giving away the ending
editYou can summarize the plot without giving the ending away. "The German Woman"'s plot summary along with other summaries tells exactly who killed the victim which ruins the whole show. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.252.183.253 (talk) 22:18, 18 August 2017 (UTC)
- Hello and thank you for you comment. As the editor responsible for most (if not all) of these "explicit summaries" I would disagree. As an encyclopaedia, Wikipedia should cover all aspects of a public/known topic, including details of how something concludes/ends. Wikipedia's own policies on the matter are quite explicit too (please refer to Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style/Film#Spoilers for details).
- My advice therefore would be to only read Wikipedia after seeing an episode - although even that needs a word of caution - I myself have not seen all of the later series of the show, and since I edit episodes immediately after watching a show, I have been "spoilered" uncountable times myself when editing these pages (which often reference past/future events). Thanks. Jabberjawjapan (talk) 23:44, 18 August 2017 (UTC)
