I agree that there is no useful info about a fractal globule. Article sound like an advertisement for someone's pet hypothesis.

Me too. Sounds very interesting an full of useful applications. Here is something to read, in case you did not come here from there ^^: http://web.mit.edu/newsoffice/2009/3d-genome.html
But if yo understand fractals, you can begin to imagine something like that. Just imagine fractal folding of strings in 3 dimensions. Possibly in a polar coordinate system.
Now what we need is the topological math behind it, to be able to actually apply it to things, and do experiments.
