Buzzword concerns
editAs other editors have flagged in maintenance tags, this article is quite poorly sourced. I'm concerned this may be because the article itself is not on sound footing - specifically because this sounds like a buzzword used recently in startup cultures where "part time" and "contract" are for some reason taboo words. If it continues to be difficult to find actually reliable sources on this topic, we should consider deleting this. StereoFolic (talk) 18:24, 21 March 2024 (UTC)
- I will mention also that I've removed several sources which don't actually use the word "fractional". It's very important that sources *directly* speak to the claims being made in the context of this article. Sources and sentences adding context by describing market trends and the non-full-time labor market can be appropriate, but we must be very careful not to combine such statements in a way that suggests these sources are discussing "fractional work". The guidelines at WP:SYNTH are particularly relevant to several passages I've just removed. The existence of "fractional work" as a distinct thing beyond marketing terminology seems very much unclear to me, so care must be taken to ensure sources are using that terminology to establish its notability.
