Reference 6, a personal gen website, states that: Fernando Pérez de Traba, who died in November 1151 and his wife Sancha González de Lara (actually, she was not a member of the House of Lara, but an Ansúrez), were the parents of Juan Frolaz Mariño who had several children, including a Paio Mariño who in 1300 sold land given to him by King Fernando IV. As you can see, it is impossible that Juan Frolaz Mariño who, if he was a son of Fernando Pérez de Traba would have been born, in the best of cases as a posthumous child, in 1152, could have had a son who was active in 1300 (i.e., a span of almost 150 years). Furthermore, Fernando Pérez de Traba's children are well documented in medieval charters and there is no mention of him having a son named Juan/Joan. Best to check reputable sources instead of personal gen sites to document these filiations. Therefore, there is no proof that the Mariño descend from the Trabas and the rest of this "fabulous" genealogy is pure unfounded speculation (including the Roman gens...). --Maragm (talk) 05:56, 19 May 2016 (UTC)Reply
(translation of the above into Spanish): La referencia 6 una página personal de genealogía dice que Fernando Pérez de Traba, fallecido en noviembre de 1151, y su mujer Sancha Glz de Lara (no era una Lara, sino Ansúrez) fueron los padres de Juan Frolaz Mariño quien tuvo varios hijos, incluyendo a un Paio Mariño quien en 1300 vendió unas tierras que le había dado el rey Fernando IV. --Maragm (talk) 07:27, 19 May 2016 (UTC)Reply
