Is the term "Franco-Seychellois" not too ambiguous? I mean I am Franco-Seychellois (meaning that I am French and Seychellois) but I am not "Franco-Seychellois" according to the articled definition. And similarly very few "Franco-Seychellois" (according to the articled definition) have the French nationality.RajivShah 16:01, 5 September 2006 (UTC)

Not really. The term Franco-Seychellois (as in Franco-Mauritian) is a term used to describe a person or presons of French ancestry who was either born in the Seychelles or was born elsewherre with Seychellois parents or grandparents, who, of course, have French ancestry.

I live in Seychelles and the only people I ever heard refer themselves as "Franco-Seychellois" are people with dual-citizenship. I have never heard people who have their ancestors coming from France refer to themselves as "Franco-Seychellois". --RajivShah 12:09, 1 August 2007 (UTC)

See this [article] --RajivShah 15:46, 1 August 2007 (UTC) rightly so.i agree with the above posts.Franco seychellois refers to people with dual nationality .Indeed most 'white' seychellois are or french origin .however i would distingush between the former plantation masters who retain more of their french identity as opposed to the decendents of french sailors,fishermen and soldiers who consider themselves to be creole.
