article selectively relies on the most damning and least exculpatory interpretations of the evidence (e.g. Coe's reasons for refusing to name names before HUAC); it is, at the least, unbalanced, and may be misleading and false. For correctives, see much more thorough re-examinations of similar charges against Coe's supervisor, Harry White, e.g. James P. Boughten, "The Case Against Harry Dexter White: Still Not Proven" (IMF Working Paper 00/149, 2000; and Craig Bruce's Ph.D. thesis (American U., 1999, "Treasonable Doubt: The Harry Dexter White Case 1948-1953").
