editHi !
I'm French and was the interpreter of Frank Farrelly some years ago.
The experimental job and practice known as provocative therapy is just impossible to describe in "ususual encyclopedic/academic style".
It's like describing Les_Demoiselles_d'Avignon in a "soft way" : the core matter is lost.
So please, leave some "harsh language" in this article !

Hello - I'm struck by how this entry seems to include much uncited material and the POV seems overly freindly - almost advertising - for a technique that has great potential for misuse and a very interesting character in the Madison WI community of therapists who for a time seemed to give up on Provocative Therapy and follow the path of various mystics and supernaturalists.
I was a student whose hypnosis teacher, Roger Seversen, allowed Frank to address us. He came in with a pile of books insisting that there were people hooked into the "other world" with whom some can communicate, etc. I consulted with him on a client with a body dysmorphia problem and I must say he can be very confrontational and provacative, but the client, while put off and unwilling to ever return and be so humiliated again, did not get better. Experiences like this convinced me that writing a book based on one's own theories and anecdotal reports of one's own success (skipping I'll guess the failures) is not science -- hence I wonder if this person and his book really should be in the Wiki oevere.
I note too that I took a workshop with him on hypnosis which he turned into a "laying on of hands" healing of a pretty young woman's ankle. Claiming that just putting his hands near her foot could pass the curative energy. (Of course this has no documentation).76.204.94.231 (talk) 20:21, 13 May 2009 (UTC)Henrysteinberger (talk) 20:23, 13 May 2009 (UTC)
