Progress is great... Thanks for the work!
editThanks to Cobaltbluetony and FisherQueen for some of the cleanups to this article. Growing up the name "Palumbo" seemed to bounce around as much as "Rizzo", but I never really knew much about the guy. It's great to finally have something (on its way to being) substantial about the guy.
While his various legitimate business interests, social-capital-power-brokering and philanthropy can certainly use some attention, it seems that the sources -- though scattered -- will withstand what little scrutany they will receive (little of that is contested). The allegations of mob ties, fight fixing (Jake LaMotta-Billy Fox), undue political influence, etc. are sore subjects and I am having a hard time finding solid sources. Since Sinatra seems to tie in with a lot of the harsher claims, I'm going to add a note the talk page there to see if anyone has anything solid to point to. Anyone here have anything? - When I get a chance, I will be hitting up the archives for a piece I'm working on re racial tensions in 1950s-1970s Philly, especially South Philly. I need to pull some details on Rizzo, the Bok riot, and a few events where Palumbo might pop up. If I have the time (ha!), I'll try to pull some info specifically on Palumbo.

- WHat about Frank Palumbo Elementary School? Also, when and where was he borna and did he die? --evrik (talk) 21:08, 13 December 2007 (UTC)
- Obviously, we have a loooong way to go on this one. Palumbo was an iconic figure for decades and yet there doesn't seem to be any one in-depth source on the guy. I could start piling up a bunch of rumor and inuendo in the article, but I don't see the point. (I guess we could start with some reliable sources on the fixed fight and its fallout...)
- Next time I'm in the archives, I'll try to spare a few minutes to at least pull some of his obits.

- Added refs to Palumbo Elementary (and redirects to listing) and Palumbo Park. Date of death was added a while ago. Still looking for one really good source on the guy. If I can't find one, maybe I'll offer it up next semester. - SummerPhD (talk) 17:55, 30 May 2008 (UTC)
- Palumbo Park is at 9th & Fitzwater Street not 7th & Catherine. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.87.23.43 (talk) 15:33, 19 April 2011 (UTC)
- Oops. We missed the larger one and got the smaller. There is a tiny Palumbo Park at 723 Catherine in addition to the larger one at 10th and Fitzwater. - SummerPhD (talk) 20:13, 19 April 2011 (UTC)

Photo request
editSince Palumbo is dead, it seems a fairly simple matter to find a usable photo of him. Since I'm not really up on photo requirements, can someone please take a look at these and others for inclusion? [1][2][3][4][5][6][7] Thanks. - SummerPhD (talk) 16:44, 3 March 2010 (UTC)
Car dealership
editHe appears to have owned the Ford car dealership in Darby, Pennsylvania. Anyone find something about that? Or is it someone else? I found an article that he gave a new car to Frank Sinatra. --Richard Arthur Norton (1958- ) (talk) 19:27, 7 September 2016 (UTC)
