Zapped section - 440 non-existant congressional districts
editI zapped: "Watchdog.org was featured in the Wall Street Journal when it became the first news organization in the country to provide a complete outline of all 440 non-existent congressional districts created by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Plan website.<ref>{{cite web|author=Post |url=http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748704204304574544063776158046.html |title=Wall Street Journal |work=The Wall Street Journal |date=November 19, 2009 |accessdate=January 12, 2012}}</ref>" because the stated source did not say that. Feel free to add the statement back in when you have a source that supports the statement. Ratagonia (talk) 23:21, 12 November 2012 (UTC)
- Good edit. I've done some work on this page in the past. It was much too promotional/self-sourcing, and it may still be, but I think it's better. Thanks for helping! Safehaven86 (talk) 00:44, 13 November 2012 (UTC)

Wind and solar power
editHughD, please explain where this source says that DT and DCF donated the $6.3 million specifically for a media campaign against wind and solar power. --Dr. Fleischman (talk) 07:07, 8 March 2015 (UTC)
- See the lead of the 1st ref. Hugh (talk) 15:42, 8 March 2015 (UTC)
- That's not helpful. What specific language are you referring to? --Dr. Fleischman (talk) 08:04, 9 March 2015 (UTC)
- quote added to ref Hugh (talk) 19:54, 9 March 2015 (UTC)
- It would be a lot more helpful if you put the quote in the discussion instead of using my question as an excuse to edit war. Btw I have started an WP:ORN discussion on this subject since we're scattered over 3 different articles. --Dr. Fleischman (talk) 20:40, 9 March 2015 (UTC)
- This ref does not support the edit. I have weighed in at OR/N. Capitalismojo (talk) 20:51, 9 March 2015 (UTC)
Outdated info on this page
editMy name is Josh Kaib, and I am an employee of the Franklin Center. I wanted to point out that a few of the sections are outdated.
The second paragraph in the introduction cites an old mission statement. You can find the updated mission and vision statement here: http://franklincenterhq.org/about/
That link also gives the states where we have Watchdog.org news bureaus. The section "News bureaus and affiliates" is also outdated.
Thanks for taking a look and updated the page! We want to make sure the page has the most up to date info, and we are happy to help you update the page elsewhere as well with any publicly available information we can provide.
Joshkaib (talk) 17:07, 21 March 2017 (UTC)
- Done Updated both, thanks. And thanks for disclosing your conflict of interest and working through the talk page. --Dr. Fleischman (talk) 18:53, 21 March 2017 (UTC)
Thank you! If I spot anything else that is incorrect, I'll let you know. I appreciate it! Joshkaib (talk) 20:20, 22 March 2017 (UTC)
I noticed two other things that are out of date: the listing of awards won by Franklin Center journalists and the mention of Watchdog Wire on the "News bureaus and affiliates" section. This page lists awards we've won, with links to sources: http://franklincenterhq.org/awards-and-memberships/
Watchdog Wire was discontinued in 2014 and is no longer online. You'll notice the site is not online anymore.

Watchdog Wire
edit- Thanks. Is there anything out there stating affirmatively that WW was or would be discontinued? --Dr. Fleischman (talk) 22:03, 29 March 2017 (UTC)
There was a notice put up on the website, but the site is gone now. Here's the cache of the page. http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:Ou7lXBgZsbIJ:watchdogwire.com/blog/2014/12/23/weve-moved-come-join-us-watchdog-arena/+&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us
It mentions something called "Watchdog Arena" which is a mostly inactive page on the Watchdog.org site. Joshkaib (talk) 19:22, 30 March 2017 (UTC)
- We can't use a Google cache, but here's a Wayback Machine archive we can use. However, the page doesn't say WW was discontinued, it says it was folded into Watchdog Arena. If Arena is mostly inactive, is it fair to presume that WW was never a particularly notable program? Would you object to the removal of WW from the article entirely? --Dr. Fleischman (talk) 20:25, 30 March 2017 (UTC)
No objection on deleting the WW reference. It was a minor program. Joshkaib (talk) 01:37, 11 April 2017 (UTC)
