Is there a way I can edit the page to update the character appearances? User:ClarinetFreak28 21:20, 20 August 2009

Why does it say, {{{birthdate}}} in the infobox in this article? I tried putting in his real birthdate, which is August 23, 1993, but it won't work. What the heck is wrong with the infobox? --♥Soccer5525♥Talk To Me! 21:21, 31 July 2008 (UTC) ]]Talk To Me! 21:21, 31 July 2008 (UTC)

Before you add this information, do you have a reliable source for it?--Rtphokie (talk) 00:45, 1 August 2008 (UTC)
Yes, I'm 91% sure it's true. I read it on Youtube, on one of his accounts. He wrote himself his birthdate. If it's not true, (which I doubt) at least I know that he's 15. --♥Soccer5525♥Talk To Me! 01:24, 2 August 2008 (UTC)
If you can provide a link to this information and it meets WP:RELIABLE then it's fine. --Rtphokie (talk) 04:16, 2 August 2008 (UTC)

Not sure what was wrong with it for you but I put in his birthday. If you could add the link I did it on your word so please add the link. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Soxrock524 (talkcontribs) 03:28, 4 September 2008 (UTC)

Fred

It's more about Fred than Lucas! Could someone please fix this? 71.203.216.152 (talk)Tweedle20 —Preceding undated comment was added at 14:13, 2 August 2008 (UTC)

The thing is that no one really no all that much about Lucas. He doesn't want to disclose a lot of personal information, since he's one of the most popular peiople on Youtube. Until he becomes more famous, the is all the info we got. --♥Soccer5525♥Talk To Me! 23:29, 27 August 2008 (UTC)

Can Someone take action against the constant vandalism on this page??

It seems like the url in the link to the Official Fred youtube site which is > http://www.youtube.com/user/Fred. Keeps getting changed by user > Say_what321 to another youtube account > http://www.youtube.com/user/LucasCruikshankLive, that although Fred related, is not the Official Fred account.

Also the same user > Say_what321 , keeps adding a link to > http://www.youtube.com/user/LucasCruikshankLive representing it as Lucas Cruikshank's second youtube account. There is no evidence of this being Lucas's second account, and the account itself refers to Lucas/Fred in third person. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Lobsterman9 (talkcontribs) 22:18, 5 August 2008 (UTC)

New article

I think that we should seperate the Lucas Cruikshank article, and make a new one, for Fred. This artcile has become way too much about Fred, and not enough about Lucas. I think we should make a new article, completely about Fred, the character. What do you guys think? --♥Soccer5525♥Talk To Me! 17:40, 2 September 2008 (UTC).

I agree with that. This articale should eb about him personally. Even though you can mention his achevment you should not concentrate on them. Take sll other famous people on youtube, there acheviments are mentioned and put on a seperate page. I agree that these need to be seperated. Soxrock524
Fred isn't notable enough to warrant an article devoted to the character. The paragraph in this article is sufficient.--Rtphokie (talk) 03:23, 21 September 2008 (UTC)

Yes, he is, Rtphokie. --TheGrandAmanin (talk) 19:11, 3 April 2009 (UTC)

I have added a "list of episodes in fred", but i can move it to "fred show" if you would like.

List of episodes

This list keeps being added. It's not appropriate to list the "episodes" here. This article is not about the show, and calling them "episodes" and making a list is unnecessary for this article. seresin ( ¡? ) 00:39, 4 September 2008 (UTC)

Hello Seresin. I am curious on why you keep deleting my Fred episode section on Lucas Cruikshank's page . If it is because I didn't list sources I don't know how to do that. Most of the editing I do on Wikipedia is just adding the [[]] things so I can click on it and go to the page. Please go here or my talk page and write a response Otherwise I don't know. It's just that I I want to hear everything you think about this. I understand that you don't think this should be under Lucas Cruikshank/Fred but there is no place for "Fred Episodes" As there is no place for them. And i'm sure that the page would be deleted immedialty if I created it. Thusly this is the onely place to put it.

Also I would like to point out that Neil Cicierega has the same type of thing for his Wikipedia page about him. If you think this should be deleted then delete that one too. BlackAdam

I've just removed that as well, but please bear in mind this. The problem with including them here is that this article is not about the YouTube channel. It's about the person who produces it. Should the channel itself become notable enough that consensus means moving that to a separate article, then a list of videos would be germane there. [[User:Seresin|. Yohan euan o4 (talk) 00:46, 26 October 2008 (UTC)

Okay I am really freaking mad that someone keeps deleting my stuff! I even added a "List of Fredisodes" page so people could look him up but some jerk deleted my page and redirected it to the Lucas Cruikshank page!!! At LEAST let me make a seperate page for Fred or I will delete everything YOU make!!! —Preceding unsigned comment added by IMeow (talkcontribs) 22:23, 8 October 2008 (UTC)

Page move

I moved the page because the disscussion of "new articale" made me realize that these two pages are surrently the same. If someone wishs to seperate them and make two different one thats fine. Untill that happens though I belive they should stay together and both be mentioned in the title. Any more disscussion on this subject would be nice. Soxrock524

The article isn't about Fred, it's abut Cruikshank, so that page-name is incorrect. So I've reverted the move. seresin ( ¡? ) 05:38, 4 September 2008 (UTC)
I beg to differ. These pages are quite clearly one in the same. If you read you realize that there is more about Fred on here the Lucas. I now realize that there is some opposition I will not more the page again untill more members of the community comment. Soxrock524
Once Lucas becomes more famous, we'll be abe to get more information about him, which we can use to create an entire Lucas Cruikshank article. For now, this is all we've got. Thanks for taking my idea into condsideration. --♥Soccer5525♥Talk To Me! 20:48, 4 September 2008 (UTC)

Because there does seem to be demand for it I think I will start a seperate page on Fred. I will start it tonight and post a link here for others to edit. Untill then they will have to be together like this .Soxrock524

too late! i already did that (see above)

Birthdate and place

There has been disagreement over Cruikshank's birthdate and place. Until a verifiable source can be found for this information, let's leave it out.--Rtphokie (talk) 21:12, 20 September 2008 (UTC)

iCarly appearance

information about an upcoming icarly appearance by Cruikshank has been added and removed several times. While rumors of this appearance may prove to be true, until a reliable reference can be located, they are just rumors and dont belong here. Blogs are not suitable references, major print or TV news sources are.--Rtphokie (talk) 11:07, 23 September 2008 (UTC)

Actually, there IS an episode on iCarly called iMeet Fred. It is coming out Oct. 18!
The only references I've been able to locate mentioning this are blogs and fan forums which aren't sufficient. Is there some other, more reliable source available?--Rtphokie (talk) 20:50, 19 October 2008 (UTC)
Does this suffice? Aik Hui (talk) 16:04, 24 October 2008 (UTC)
A teen gossip magazine is going to have difficulty passing the test of WP:RS, blogs are not considered reliable sources at all for biographies. Are there any other sources that could be used?--Rtphokie (talk) 12:34, 26 October 2008 (UTC)

Fred Gets his Own Article

Homestar Runner gets an article. So does Fred. This is an article about the actor, not the webshow. The webshow deserves a seperate article from the actor. Taco Wiz (talk) 18:51, 19 October 2008 (UTC)

So fix it, if you think Fred should get his own article with more detail, then create the article, just make sure it's properly sourced or it's likely to get nominated for deletion very quickly.--Rtphokie (talk) 12:36, 26 October 2008 (UTC)

why does this "actor" or "show" deserve an article at all? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 97.106.145.231 (talk) 17:43, 27 May 2009 (UTC)

LUCAS LEAVES JKL

Today on MySpace, through a bulletin, JKL productions announced that Lucas left the group in November. He is officially gone. This should be added promptly, perhaps with the quotations from the actual bulletin.

Old owner knowing where Fred lives iCarly Mention

Though it's true that it was said the old "Fred" owner knows where he lives is mentioned in the episode, it's first mentioned in the original video they took it from: "Fred Goes Swimming" so, should we take it away? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.236.120.38 (talk) 00:15, 18 February 2009 (UTC)

Episodes

This show is obviously a web SHOW, so we need a seperate article for the show itself and Lucas. BTW, Im back Seresin and ill keep coming back until this is fixed! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.215.111.217 (talk) 22:02, 20 February 2009 (UTC)

In the Content section

It reads "The Fred channel was launched by Cruikshank on April 30, 2008", but on his YouTube channel it says: "Joined: October 01, 2005", which is more correct? 194.144.87.74 (talk) 14:00, 12 March 2009 (UTC)

Introductory Paragraph

Freds videos left jkl, lucas is still in jkl, he just isnt active bc he lives in a different state

This is not true. On 5 January 2009, JKL sent out a bulletin on Myspace saying that Lucas has not been part of JKL since November 2008.

Unsubscription

Will this article mention the Massive Unsubscription of Fred? Kausill (talk) 12:26, 1 June 2009 (UTC)

yes, people have added it —Preceding unsigned comment added by ShowChef (talkcontribs) 21:45, 1 June 2009 (UTC)

No, it was a failed attempt to stir up controversy in which around 5000, or less than 0.5% of his subscribers unsubscribed and therefore it isn't noteworthy 70.62.4.147 (talk) 04:37, 5 June 2009 (UTC)

Yeah, maybe if it had been mentioned on the news or something. Not quite notable. Kausill (talk) 06:58, 25 June 2009 (UTC)

You guys say the unsubscription of Fred's account are not important but it is EXTREMELY significant. If you already have not noticed, Fred used to have a lot of subscribers a head of number 2, NigaHiga. Yet, now the massive unsubscribtion rally of Fred because "He has no talent" is mounting and mounting and is giving Fred a HUGE blow to their stance as the most subscribed on YouTube. as implied on the Fred Figglehorn page, Fred has less then 5,000 subscriptions more than NigaHiga. Usually that is a safe margin to have but when you have Millions of views in the first day your video comes out, 5,000 is not hard to get. So that means it is safe to say NigaHiga will surpass Fred in subscribtions. That could and will change the look of the Fred channel so it is significant for sure. So whoever could still edit this page, please add a Unsubscribtion section in the article.

Wikipedia is made to give people the BEST information out there that is made for the people, by the people.

Fred opened his channel in October 1, 2005

This is incorrect, Fred didn't set up the channel - someone else did and they gave it to him. Why would he make it in 2005 and not post a video until 2008? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.55.173.11 (talk) 01:42, 29 June 2009 (UTC)

Split Lucas and Fred

They're two different people, and the info box on the right looks quite confusing. maybe split Lucas and Fred into two separate sections on the same page, so it is like a biography of Lucas, with Fred mentioned later in the article? like an actor's wikipedia page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.7.25.2 (talk) 09:18, 7 July 2009 (UTC)

Unprotect this page

{{editsemiprotected}} I would like to add to this page a part that states that although Fred has many subscribers, he seems to have a lot of people who don't like him as there are many negative comments toward him on youtube. That way people can at least know some like him and some don't —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.80.131.41 (talk) 19:59, 9 July 2009 (UTC)

I will repeat the important part of the tag you added:
"This template may only be used when followed by a specific description of the request, that is, specific text that should be removed and a verbatim copy of the text that should replace it. "Please change X" is not acceptable and will be rejected; the request must be of the form "please change X to Y".
If you want something changed you will need to say specifically what text needs to be changed and exactly how it should read. Unfortunately, youtube comments do not constitute a reliable source. You will need to find a reliable source before any information such as you have suggested can be added to the entry. I hope this information was helpful. There's a lot of Fred haters out there, and I think it's worth mentioning on the wikipedia page. After all, a wikipedia page should tell people everything about the subject —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.80.174.148 (talk) 17:02, 10 July 2009 (UTC) I am putting this {{editsemiprotected}} thing back up just in case no one has seen what I wrote after someone told me comments weren't reliable sources. Here's an internet poll on Fred. 18% of people say they hate his guts http://www.quizilla.com/polls/result/10353571 That's almost a quarter of people. So again, please add a part to this page that states that Fred has a lot of haters, despite his popularity —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.80.174.148 (talk) 05:03, 11 July 2009 (UTC)

Not done: please establish a consensus for this alteration before using the {{edit semi-protected}} template. I'm removing the template now to clear clutter in the category. When you can establish consensus, place the tag back. Also, YouTube usually isn't that reliable a source. — Deon555talkI'm BACK! 11:21, 11 July 2009 (UTC)

Majority?

If you're going to say that "a majority" of YouTube users dislike Fred, you should use statistics to prove it. Find a poll asking about peoples oppinions of Fred. As long as you have no statistics or sources, you should change that part of the article. 71.182.229.193 (talk) 05:35, 16 July 2009 (UTC)

You guys actually like this?

Doesn't the article deserve a criticism or controversy section? This is the most retarded pile of crap ever, and that doesn't need citing... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.177.212.84 (talk) 23:53, 8 August 2009 (UTC)

True, it is extremely pathetic and unfunny, but it is not up to us to debate this, unless someone has some relevant information with reference concerning this to include on the article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Faitudum (talkcontribs) 01:22, 14 August 2009 (UTC)

Criticism

I noticed that fred is one of, if not the, most critified channels on youtube, as when you type in something like 'fred sucks' or 'fred rant' on youtube there will be pages of rant videos, and the fact that there are entire accounts dedicated to the criticism of fred. Shouldnt something about this be added to the article? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.113.140.44 (talk) 08:42, 11 August 2009 (UTC)

Agreed, it doesn't take a genius to notice how much criticism fred actually receives. Most of the comments that he gets on youtube are actually attacks towards him and his videos. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Faitudum (talkcontribs) 01:26, 14 August 2009 (UTC)

Nigahiga was once most subscribed after Fred overtook them

There was a short amount of time where nigahiga overtook smosh in subscribers making him number 1, smosh 2, and Fred 3, but then Fred overtook both of them. Someone should change the most subscribed box at the bottom. Quiznos55 (talk) 04:42, 26 August 2009 (UTC)

Yeah, that is correct. The problem with the most subscribed box is that you'll have to use the box twice then, as I did on the smosh page (which was #1 early on youtube, then again from apr 07 until nigahiga passed them, and fred passed them both). I'll try a quick edit to do this though. --Milowent (talk) 21:20, 1 September 2009 (UTC)

Episode section

As per an AfD discussion, List of Fred episodes is to be redirected to this article. I would recommend that the Episodes section be expanded to include a link to the YouTube channel, discussion of any notable episodes, and a brief overview (not a summary) of the seasons or the body of work as a whole. What I would not recommend is a wholesale recreation of the entire list of episodes. It's too big and most of it isn't notable. ButOnMethItIs (talk) 15:35, 23 December 2009 (UTC)

I don't think Fred Figglehorn is something that's noteworthy enough for an entire Wikipedia article. There are other YouTube and internet celebrities with just as much recognition, and you don't see an entire article dedicated to them. Most of them are in the "list of youtube personalities" article, which is where Fred Figglehorn's name also belongs. This article exists, because there is a lot of bias on wikipedia. 99.6.143.133 (talk) 23:01, 28 January 2010 (UTC)
