I resubmitted, as I explained in response to your post ony my talk page, because the subject is notable as a drummer. Your explanation that he fails the actor criteria is irrelevant, and nowhere in the article is he identified as an actor. As a drummer he did feature in several films which qualofies him under the exhibition criteria for an artist. That filmmakers chose to document and incorporate his work in their films shows his significance. He also qualifies under the very first criteria for an artist: "The person is regarded as an important figure or is widely cited by peers or successors." The extraordinary and influential nature of his performances and showmanship is noted repeatedly in this entry by various notable and influential figures in the drumming world. I do acknowledge that it is often exceeedingly difficult to get article on African American subject approved on Wikipedia. FloridaArmy (talk) 15:39, 29 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
