Great Depression
editHe bought a health farm and a gymnasium but fell victim to the great depression and died penniless in New York on 29 July 1927.
How can this be, as he died more than 2 years before the depression started? -- Arwel 16:41, 21 Oct 2004 (UTC)
Ouch! I must admit to knowing next to nothing about the Great Depression, then neither does the BBC. My research about his death revealed two web sites that supported my assumption:- the BBC page - http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/wales/1901425.stm plus the much respected Welsh Warriors site :- http://www.johnnyowen.com/freddie_welsh.html.
I suppose it is safer not to mention the Great depressian at all. --Emdec 17:59, 21 Oct 2004 (UTC)
Nationality
editWe can't hide the fact that he was American as well as British. He served in their armed forces and died in New York. I've tried to reflect his dual nationality in the article: that he learned to fight in Wales and had some "Welsh pedigree". —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.69.216.130 (talk) 08:36, 13 April 2009 (UTC)
- He never gained dual-nationality. He was always British. FruitMonkey (talk) 21:13, 11 August 2010 (UTC)

GA push
editThis appears to be a very well written article at first glance and I don't see a reason this shouldn't get up to GA status. With a bit of copyediting and a few extra refs I think this will comfortably meet the criteria. I'll have a look at polishing it up if no one objects. Kosack (talk) 20:20, 11 December 2019 (UTC)
