I am sorry to be pedantic, but my research is based on resources that are in the public domain or the British Library, which I have spent 5 years collating. As such, there is nothing original in the content of this article that cannot be clarified from many sources. I am the only significant authority on this composer, although Lewis Foreman and Jeremy Dibble would be able to confirm a majority of my statements. Christopher J. Further to my previous talk page entry, I have now added references, listing the principal sources of the information I have added to this article on Frederic Cowen, which I believe any Cowen enthusiast will find beneficial, and which will provide much backgrounding reading for anyone interested in this subject. Anyone that finds anything controversial in this revised article is welcome to discuss it with me, and if necessary I will provide additional information to support that which is written here to them. Verification

There is also an entry on Cowen in the Oxford Dictionary of Opera. I don't see any problem with the article as a whole so I am removing the OR tag. The OR tag was in initially placed to reflect the fact that the author had declared the article was based upon his own phd research. There has since been a great deal of laudable effort (on Mr Parker's part) to adequately reference the article, and I more than agree that the tag should be removed. I do, however, feel that there ought to be a {{wikify}} tag, as the article could do with cleaning (e.g. removing the more floral descriptions, such as "illustrious masters", and "he succeeds wonderfully",) and trimming down to a degree. Tidy up

I have taken up the collective advice on the removal of some of the more flowery phrases and have made a correction to the picture insert information to bring it into line with the main text, and correct the error. Cowen's birth name varies in almost every publication, but I have seen a synagogue document that confirms his birth name as I have corrected it.Christopher J. Parker 15:40, 31 May 2007 (UTC)

Chamber Music

the Musical Times of June 1 1879 (avail. Google Books and in Libraries) (p.321) mentions the premiere of a piano quartet in C minor (on 12 May 1879 - Cowen/M. Musin, violin/Mr. Hann, viola/M. Interesting. The Grove doesn't mention it at all - typically, they try to cover lost compositions. Your cite is a valid RS. I hope a copy exists somewhere waiting re-discovery/recording.
