Hello I am Fredric Abbott's widow and earlier today I returned my previous edits to his page - I see they were removed and your name is given as the editor. I am 77 yoa and not au fait with Wikipedia except to repeat my corrections over the last 18 months. I'm not sure how you locate your information or the grounds on which you delete information given to you. Perhaps you could advise and allow me to 124.183.250.134 (talk) 02:35, 14 September 2013 (UTC)verify my bona fides. Joanne AbbottReply

Hi Joanne
Thanks for taking the time to leave a note.
The issue here is that Wikipedia is based on verifiability, and on reliable sources. That means that first-hand commentary is not an acceptable source: it is counted at original research, which is not acceptable.
In some cases, there is very little published material about a topic, in which case we say that it is not notable, so can't have an article about it. In other cases, it means that an article on the topic has to be quite short.
I am sure that it must be frustrating for you to know that so much more could be said about your late husband, and to find that your attempts to add it are removed, as I did yesterday. I hope that if you read some of the policies I liked to above, you may e able to accept that this is nothing personal against you or your family; it's just a function of Wikipedia's editorial policies.
I think we can both agree that the article as it stands is lamentably short, and that it would be much better if it could be expanded to provide a fuller picture of Frederic's long career. As above, that has to be based on published reliable sources ... and you may be able to help. Do you have any newspaper articles or reviews which could be used as sources for expanding the article? --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 09:30, 14 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

hi there, I just wanted to let you know that they forgot to mention that Fredric was in the Australian TV series Prisoner Cell Block H, where he acted as Andrew, a friend of Prison Officer Joan Ferguson whom he played golf with a few times & invited her to stay at his house when Joan lost her house to a fire deliberately lit by Rita Connors motorcycle gang The Conquerers. I’m not sure as to how many episodes he appeared in but it was between the episodes 600 & 692 in either 1985 or 1986. Fredric also appeared in the Australian TV series Home and Away as Roy Jackson between the 8th & 27th February 1991. Thanking you for taking the time in reading this. Kind Regards: Jeff.R. 😊 30th March 2018.
