editI've removed the mention of the rumored inspiration of The Simpsons character Mr Burns. I'm aware that this rumor is widespread but I searched extensively and couldn't find a good source for the information. The previously linked source:

Is not a primary source and is little more than a restatement of the rumored factoid. The only other sources I could find were drivel like this:
an article from the UK's Sunday Mail which quotes an unnamed Norwegian magazine and yet calls the information an "EXCLUSIVE". It looks like nonsense. Further supporting the claims of nonsense, this an other articles I found that list Olsen as inspiration mention the Dundee Timex factory disputes as inspiration to Groening – but these occurred in 1993, well after the Burns character was already established.
