It appears that the article is blindly translated from de:Freischwebende Intelligenz. As it is, its referencing is insufficient for English Wikipedia. I am pretty much sure you didnt check the sources, just copied the references from de-wiki. This is not good.- Altenmann >talk 23:12, 5 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Free-floating intellectuals . In this context GErman word "Intelligenz" is translated as "intellectuals". (Another wariant: "intelligentsia", is nostly applied to Russia and Poland, but I may be mistaken. - Altenmann >talk 18:35, 6 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

As long as searches can find it by searching for "Free-floating intelligence", which is how we discuss it in academia. MaynardClark (talk) 20:25, 6 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
I have no doubts there are plenty of misguided translations from German. But even you yourself in the article wrote "It includes the members of the intelligentsia, whose relative independence as a socially..". In English the word wikt:intelligence is never used in reference to a social group. it is either "intellectuals" or "intelligentsia". - Altenmann >talk 20:37, 6 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

google ngram clearly shows that in the books the usage of the term "Free-floating_intelligence" is far below the other two; with "intellectuals" dominating. - Altenmann >talk 20:47, 6 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
