The domain fd.ge belonging to "Our Georgia – Free Democrats" has been inaccessible for some time now
editThe domain fd.ge belonging to "Our Georgia – Free Democrats" has been inaccessible for some time now. "Irakli Alasania - Free Democrats" party is a component of the Georgian Dream coalition: http://gd.ge/?m=7&double=15&lang=Eng Thus I see fit to place a link to the main English language site of the coalition (http://gd.ge/?lang=Eng) in this article. Distinguish tag
editSince some apparently are oblivious to the order of WP:BRD, I'll start the conversation. The "distinguish" template produces a hatnote to point out to readers the existence of one or more articles whose title(s) is, or are, similar to the page in question. Free Democrats (Georgia) and Free Democrats (Armenia) by far warrants the use of this tag, as supported by policy (see New Democratic Party of Serbia or Justice Party (India) as examples). If there was a disambiguation, that obviously would have been used. But there isn't. Contrary to the user (Zlad!) claims, there aren't a whole bunch of other "Free Democrats" parties which have wiki articles. Zlad! further claimed that because many "Free Democrats" parties exist in this world we shouldn't use the hatnote. *Palm to face*- that's not how Wikipedia works. By that logic we should speedily remove the Justice Party India tag because there are many "Justice Parties" in the world. Also, this has nothing to do with geography or the fact that they are neighbors at all. You are more than welcome to add more similar parties by using (|) to extend the distinguish list, should you feel that "Armenia" is being singled out. Mind you, the Georgian article is equally represented over at Free Democrats Armenia as well. Hope this is crystal clear for you now. Cheers, Archives908 (talk) 13:13, 10 September 2024 (UTC)
- Georgia isn't even linked in Free Democratic Party. You are more than welcome to add it and make a legitimate contribution rather that engaging in an WP:EW and refusing to discuss here. Archives908 (talk) 16:24, 10 September 2024 (UTC)
- Also, Free Democrats would apply way more than "Free Democratic Party". This party isn't linked there either. Archives908 (talk) 16:36, 10 September 2024 (UTC)
- It's kinda weird that we have two separate disambiguation pages for very similar things maybe they should be merged.
- Anyways, I added Georgian Free Democrats to both disambiguation pages. Now, I support either adding a link to the disambiguation page at the top and/or removing the Armenian party. Zlad! (talk) 17:21, 10 September 2024 (UTC)
- I would advise adding the Free Democrats since it is more similar in wording than "Free Democratic Party". Archives908 (talk) 17:29, 10 September 2024 (UTC)
- I made the change over at Free Democrats Armenia...if you want to implement the change here, please do it yourself. Archives908 (talk) 17:39, 10 September 2024 (UTC)
