Origin
editThere is a lot to be explained about how the FPCNA began, not just as a denomination, but with the assimilation of the original NA congregations into the Ulster denomination. Right now the Origin section just reiterates what I've put in the first paragraph, more or less. The Origin section still deserves to exist though, and needs to include the founding of the Toronto, Greenville, and Pennsylvania congregations in the future. I can supply that soon enough if nobody else does. Dtjohnso (talk) 15:11, 15 May 2009 (UTC)

Is it fair to label Free Presbyterians as Protestant?
editYes, I get the fact that early Presbyterians were part of a collective gathering of religions identified as Protestant. But why can we simply not refer to this section of the Free Presbyterian Church (formed after the Protestant Reformation) as 'Christian?' Is it not more respectful to identify a religious group by what they believe in than what they oppose? On another tangent, could this include a little more information on the connection of the Church to the larger Presbyterian Church (is that how it is referred?). At first read I assumed they were a breakoff group from the larger Presbyterian body. Following the link I discovered they were a breakoff from one of the larger Presbyterian groups confirming my suspicion. Then on even further study it seemed they are still a body in full fellowship with the larger Presbyterian church. Now it seems they are in fellowship with the "Associated Presbyterian" movement but it is confusing as to whether that is in good standing with the general Presbyterian church. Could someone lay this one out so a normal guy like me can understand the context?--Canadiandy talk 03:32, 15 August 2011 (UTC)
Having read a little further I recognize the Church itself is "unashamedly" Protestant so I see the logic for that label. I also recognize two other key qualifiers (see article link http://www.freepres.org/sep_details.asp?sep_how). At th Groups website they further identify themselves as both Presbyterian and Evangelistic. I would suggest we consider adding three terms (which I believe are all linkable) so that the article textbox identifies the Church as; Christian, Protestant, Presbyterian, Evangelistic.--Canadiandy talk 01:58, 16 August 2011 (UTC)
I've been bold and made the change (re: infobox = Christian)--Canadiandy talk 01:41, 27 September 2011 (UTC)
