Russian Music

edit

Does anyone know the song or recording which is sung by men coir during the start of the russia scene (while a russian mosque is shown)? I think it sounds similar to recordings of the soviet national anthem. Can anyone who understand russian hear what words they are singing and find out what it is?

BIG 22:05, 23 March 2007 (UTC) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xxMmZ4cMCBE it's Jedahs theme from Darkstalkers 3, check out his intro in this Mugen made video. it's the same music as in the original games.Reply

That's doesn't really sound like the same music. It would be a stretch to declare that a connection. --Do Not Talk About Feitclub (contributions) 14:05, 6 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

song 241 on http://gh.ffshrine.org/soundtracks/3091, I hope you apologize now. I checked out this episode and the SNUKE episode and it is the same song.

That Drawing I could have sworn I've seen this drawing online many months ago. At least last year. So was this drawing created just for this episode? - RogueJedi86 02:47, 11 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

i think stan in the photorealistic drawing looks like trey parker. does anyone else?--Irish rover 21:56, 6 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

  • Probably deliberately made that way, I think Trey has said in an interview before that Stan is the character most like him in real life (and Kyle most like Matt Stone). I don't have a reference though. Matt7895 01:54, 24 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

I have got to ask... That image is used by a pirating group. But I have no idea which came first. Did that group use that image from the show? Or did Trey Parker and Matt Stone throw one out to the internet community? Kind of like the Juggernaut line from X3? I'm pretty sure the game park guys were playing was "thirst for blood" from the towelie episode, not mortal kombat deception.

I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Cultural References

edit

Cite these, then they can return;

  • The episode is a parody of the film "Keiko en Peligro," which stars Keiko (orca) as a sick alien who must be returned home by a group of children. The film is directed by Rene Cardona III, the grandson of a famous Mexican director and actor.
  • The episode's title and general concept are a parody of the film Free Willy
  • In the opening scene, right after Jambu "waves" at the crowd, the Twister II, a wooden roller coaster at Six Flags Elitch Gardens, can be seen in the background. Six Flags Elitch Gardens is right next to Ocean Journey (which Sea Park is based upon), in Denver.
  • When Kyle's mother states that she is "taking Ike to the new Harry Potter movie", she refers to the film Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire released during the making of this episode.
  • The theme played by Mexican musicians while the rocket launches is "Jarabe tapatío" (The Mexican Hat Dance) which was also played in Casa Bonita (South Park episode).
  • Referring to current events, when the boys are on the phone with the Japanese space program they have to explain that they want them to take the whale to the moon and that they don't want them to eat the whale (see Whaling in Japan).
  • When the boys are presenting the plan to free the whale to the rest of the kids, they use a "Jazzerstep" platform to stand on.
  • The background during the credits of Jambu lying dead on the moon is a direct parody of the ending credits of Space Cowboys
  • Jambu is a parody of the whale Shamu found in SeaWorld.
  • The music that plays over the first scene with the Russians is the intro theme music with the chants of Jedah Dohma, from the Capcom fighting game series Darkstalkers.
