Hello all, I am working on an assignment for my class through the Wiki Education program and I chose to add some information to this article about the freedom flights of Cuba. I hope to add some information on the emphasis of family reunification, the data to support the information on the flights, and create a new paragraph about the demographics of this migration. This new paragraph would highlight the migrants, socioeconomic class, gender, and race providing a more in depth look of the numbers I will be providing to the article. The source I will be using for these additions is Exiles, Immigrants, and Transnationals: Cubans in the United States which is a collection of works by David Gutierrez. The section I worked with was the Cuban communities of the United States by Maria Cristina Garcia. She is a Cornell University professor and an Andrew Carnegie Fellow focused on migration to America and 20th Century history. She has published 4 books and is continually writing and adding to others as well as teaching. In total I will be adding about 6 sentences. If anyone has any notes or suggestions feel free to let me know on this talk page.Dantheman5456 (talk) 19:42, 1 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
