Talk:Freedom of religion in Lebanon

Outdated

edit

This article uses the outdated 2007 Report on International Religious Freedom as a source, this is the last one from 2014. Rupert Loup (talk) 03:43, 20 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

Added a lead sentence. --Batili anlamda ilk editor (talk) 16:33, 19 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

edit

I think the article is missing a neutral point of view. I fixed the paragraph about religious conversions and will change the sub-section it belongs to. --Batili anlamda ilk editor (talk) 17:05, 19 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

Section about discrimination against women needs rewriting

edit

The following section needs rewriting: "In most cases, religious groups administer their own family and personal status laws. Many of these laws discriminate against women. For example, Sunni inheritance law provides a son twice the inheritance of a daughter. Although Muslim men may divorce easily, Muslim women may do so only with the concurrence of their husbands." The section lacks nuance, especially the last sentence because it groups Shia and Sunni personal status law together and in the case of Sunni law (I am not sure about the Shia law) a divorce is possible without the permission of a husband, for example in case of abuse or neglect.
