The British and the french line of battle at Trafalga each had a ship named Achilles. An earlier 74 gun French battle ship named L’Achilles was captured by the British Navy on the Glorious First Of June 1794. — Preceding unsigned comment added by RichardHoldstock (talk • contribs) 22:00, 16 October 2014
- Close, but no, the British and French ships were both named Achille. The British ship launched in 1798 took the name from the captured French ship. The French had launched a new Achille in 1803. Both these ships were at Trafalgar, along with a British Neptune, a French Neptune and a Spanish Neptuno. Benea (talk) 23:09, 16 October 2014 (UTC)
