Significance
editThis is bound to be brought up so I'll try to nail it straight off. I'm asserting the signifance of the group on the basis that their records are still in print and interest is re-surfacing almost 40 years after it's initial release, and also because of their relevance to the fokl-revival phenomenon. One can't really adequately describe the roots of movements such as New Weird America and 'Freak Folk' without including mention of somewhat obscure groups like Fresh Maggots, Linda Perhacs, Comus etc, who collectively defined the sound of today's folk revival.
