Error at end of summary.

edit

Just prefacing this with an apology if this is the wrong place or the incorrect manner of discussing this as I would like someone with more knowledge to assist me in this. The end of summary contains "He was an unapologetic supporter of Germany during the First World War, but resigned his position in protest during the Second World War[citation needed], as he was Jewish." This is here despite him resigning his position and leaving the Germany in 1933 and dying in 1934, 5 years before the start of World War 2. Should this be amended/deleted as this information is quite innacurate. QuietOkami (talk) 02:36, 2 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

Haber comment in first paragraph about World War II

edit

This comment about World War II seems incorrect since Haber died in 1934 - 5 years before the start of WWII

He was an unapologetic supporter of Germany during the First World War, but resigned his position in protest during the Second World War[citation needed], as he was Jewish. 2601:18D:57F:ACB0:BD8E:6489:C050:E8FE (talk) 02:56, 2 August 2022 (UTC)Reply

World War 1 section

edit

Sentence "Haber played a major role in the development of the non-ballistic use of chemical warfare in World War I, in spite of the proscription of their use in shells by the Hague Convention of 1907 (to which Germany was a signatory)." Needs to be reworked, non-ballistic use would indicate it was not being used in shells which would be in keeping with the Hague convention, not in spite of. 24.159.60.222 (talk) 03:27, 19 November 2022 (UTC)Reply

Ammonia and Fertilizer

edit

There should be more emphasis on this kind of research and development. Because that made indeed more food available to people through the use of fertilizers and increases in yield. 105.4.3.155 (talk) 17:15, 28 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

"Treatment of cholera"?

edit

"Haber's next suggestion was for his father to purchase calcium hypochlorite which at the time was the only known treatment of cholera."

This seems to imply that the substance was used to directly treat human beings suffering from cholera. As far as I can tell, this is not true. Instead, it's used to "treat" (i.e., disinfect) water, killing the cholera bacteria and making the water safe to drink. Someone more knowledgeable should probably check this.
