This article is totally incorrect!
editThe following is false: "The Southern New England Telephone Company currently does business as Frontier Communications of Connecticut." The old "Southern New England Telephone Company" was defunct when SBC purchased it and SNET ceased to exist. SBC then re-branded itself with the "AT&T" name since it was more recognizable. With the sale of CT landlines to Frontier, THIS is the company - not SNET! SNET's history ends (officially) with the sale to SBC. Stop acting as if SNET still exists.
- That's not how the local operating companies work. They may change hands, and with that they may change branding, but they still exist as subsidiary companies of their succession of parent companies. SNET still exists as a subsidiary of Frontier (and SBC/modern AT&T before that), and will still exist under Verizon once the purchase of Frontier is finalized. oknazevad (talk) 20:33, 19 October 2024 (UTC)
Commonly referred to as SNETCo?
editHave lived in CT for going on 40 years. Have NEVER heard anyone refer to SNET as SNETCo.
- Agreed. Removing that unsupported claim. oknazevad (talk) 20:33, 19 October 2024 (UTC)
