Can someone please add the mathematical derivation of the FV_annuity formula from the regular/lump sum FV formula? (Same for the PV formulas).

See [[[time value of money]] for the derivations.--Gregalton 16:37, 3 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

How to calculate i

edit

Given the values of MV, PV and n, how do we compute i in the following formula:

     MV = PV * ((1 + i) ^ n) / i

Thanks in advance. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kpsendilkumar (talkcontribs) 05:04, 25 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Wrong PHP formula

edit

I think the current PHP formula is wrong. I think the proper formula is

<?php
function FV($p, $i, $t){ return round($p * (pow(1 + $i, $t) - 1) / $i, 2); }
?>

What is the purpose of having a code implementation? I doubt the vast majority of people reading the article care about how it is implemented in PHP (or any coding language for that matter). What does this add to the article? 76.122.102.100 (talk) 22:10, 30 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
