editI'm not sure whether the title actually is meant to give associations to Icelandic sagas ("The title is meant to give associations to the Icelandic sagas.", Background). Saga is the Swedish translation of story or fairytale 83.223.9.190 (talk) 14:00, 25 November 2014 (UTC)

The result of the move request was: moved. Although there was a bit of disagreement about the alternatives, it appears to be agreed upon that the current title is definitely incorrect, so the move to the suggested title is probably best for the time being. Number 57 14:30, 26 January 2015 (UTC)

- Is The Story of Gösta Berling more common? Dekimasuよ! 21:10, 12 December 2014 (UTC)
- Hard to tell which one is the most common, The Saga of Gösta Berling also exists. // Smartskaft (talk) 12:40, 13 December 2014 (UTC)
- Looking at what the English translations of the book are called in LIBRIS it's a tie between "Gösta Berling's Saga" and "The Story of Gösta Berling", but really no "Gösta Berlings Saga", so that one is out. There's even a "The saga of Gösta Berling". When the film adaptation (could not link directly to the pic since site is on the WP black list) with Greta Garbo was shown in the US (making the story known outside Sweden), it was as "The Story of Gösta Berling". w.carter-Talk 11:59, 26 December 2014 (UTC)
