Recreational dive sites?
editThe article is in category Underwater diving sites in Malta, but diving is not mentioned in the content. · · · Peter Southwood (talk): 16:53, 30 June 2021 (UTC)
- Well, Pbsouthwood, that may be because essentially nothing is mentioned in the content. People do dive sometimes there – or at least, they used to before the cliffs fell into the inlet (Col-Lapsi, anyone?), now I don't know. I'm interested in the idea of underwater diving; do we also have a category for out-of-water diving sites in Malta? Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 20:23, 30 June 2021 (UTC)
- Justlettersandnumbers, not that I know of. Do you mean a hyperbaric chamber facility ? There probably is at least one, but those are not normally considered recreational dive sites. · · · Peter Southwood (talk): 00:18, 1 July 2021 (UTC)
- Pbsouthwood, please excuse me, I indulged in a moment of flippancy. Under water is really about the only place you can dive, so the name of the category seems to be something of a tautology, that's all I meant. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 21:55, 1 July 2021 (UTC)
- Justlettersandnumbers, I thought that too, but dive turns out to be somewhat ambiguous, and underwater was the clearest disambiguator we could find at the time that includes all of the (underwater) diving modes. Nevertheless, dry compression to a pressure of more than a metre sea water is legally diving in some jurisdictions, and could reasonably be what you were asking about. In the case of the category, hindsight suggests we should have gone with Recreational dive sites, but the changes would be quite a lot of work, so we may be stuck with them for some time. · · · Peter Southwood (talk): 05:23, 2 July 2021 (UTC)
