Reason for move to Jerusalem

I've removed the following:

The main reason for this is because religious organisations in the UK and in many European countries are not allowed to solicit funds.

The assertion that religious organisations in the UK cannot solicit funds is patently wrong. There are of course legal controls on the methods used. The Jerusalem Post article gives no reason for the move. If anyone does have information on this, or on any UK regulations that God TV found too constraining, please add it to the article. Rugxulo (talk) 21:23, 9 May 2009 (UTC)

I added the reason back to the article because I found a reference for this. I made sure to state it in a way that was as neutral as possible. I explained the reason as an opinion of TBN/700 Club. Even if somehow TBN/700 Club were mistaken, it is true that they reported this. If anyone else has another reference of why they moved please add it, but please do not remove the information that I have added. Furthermore, TBN/700 Club are a source that one would expect to be very favorable of God TV and on-air fund raising. There is little chance that they are manipulating the facts to disparage God TV on this issue. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sweetsabine (talkcontribs) 15:37, 18 May 2010 (UTC)

Criticism and POV

I had reinstated and expanded some content reporting on criticism and regulatory actions relating to this channel. This material is notable IMO and it is all fully referenced, so I would ask that it's not removed without prior discussion. I have tried to phrase it in a neutral manner. Also see above comments about weasel words. On a separate note, there is a lack of NPOV in other content which does need to be addressed. Sidefall (talk) 11:49, 16 October 2009 (UTC)

I am working on adding more third-party referenced material to this article and trying to clear up POV issues throughout the article. If you can give me any advice I would appreciate it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sweetsabine (talkcontribs) 15:39, 18 May 2010 (UTC)

Merge discussion [Moved here from Talk:GOD_TV]

Erm.. see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_God_Channel 118.2.126.96 (talk) 13:09, 9 February 2009 (UTC)

Yes, a merge proposal should probably have been made a long time ago. The channel(s) appear to be interchangably branded in various forms. Mike Doughney (talk) 07:39, 11 February 2009 (UTC)

Eight months later (!), I've taken the initiative and added merge templates to both articles. I'd suggest that the other one is the target for the merge, as it seems a bit more developed, and this one should be turned into a redirect. However, I don't have any strong feelings here, and would rather not do the editing myself. Sidefall (talk) 11:14, 16 October 2009 (UTC)

(Algibson (talk) 10:50, 16 June 2010 (UTC))I agree - GOD TV and GOD Channel should be merged as the name of the network and the name of its channel have become synonymous —Preceding unsigned comment added by Algibson (talkcontribs) 10:47, 16 June 2010 (UTC)

Merge discussion

There's effectively a duplicate article at GOD TV. I've added merge templates to both pages and would suggest getting rid of the other one as it seems less developed. But I don't have strong feeling either way, just that one needs to go. Sidefall (talk) 11:15, 16 October 2009 (UTC)

The existence of two very similarly named talk pages could also cause a lot of confusion, so I've redirected Talk:GOD_TV here to keep all article discussion in the one place, and copied the content from there into the new section below this post. By the looks of things, it seems that there are a number of different pages under God TV and The God Channel which could do with tidying up into a single resource, with alternative names/spellings/capitalisations being served via redirects. :-)

From having a quick look around several Wikipedia entries directly relating to God TV, it looks to me like the whole arrangement might've become somewhat fragmented across the encyclopedia. For example; This talk page is hosted at Talk:God_TV but seems to relate to the article at GOD_TV (Note difference in letter case)...In the inverse case, God_TV redirects to GOD_TV, and Talk:GOD_TV redirects here.

To avoid fragmentation of the article, it's associated talk pages and any other directly related metadata that I can find, I'd like to propose that this talk page be moved to Talk:GOD_TV (Overwriting the one that's currently there) and this page be redirected there instead. I'm happy to do this myself if there are no objections to my doing so and will add a merge proposal tag to this page in a second...But if anyone does have any objections to my planned defragmentation of these pages, please let me know. :-)

Looks like the talk pages are properly associated now. Added template to document the merge and allow access to old material. No need to transplant talk page material from here.     Y Merger complete. --DarkCrowCaw 14:11, 4 June 2012 (UTC)

removing POV tag with no active discussion per Template:POV

I've removed an old neutrality tag from this page that appears to have no active discussion per the instructions at Template:POV:

This template is not meant to be a permanent resident on any article. Remove this template whenever:
  1. There is consensus on the talkpage or the NPOV Noticeboard that the issue has been resolved
  2. It is not clear what the neutrality issue is, and no satisfactory explanation has been given
  3. In the absence of any discussion, or if the discussion has become dormant.

Since there's no evidence of ongoing discussion, I'm removing the tag for now. If discussion is continuing and I've failed to see it, however, please feel free to restore the template and continue to address the issues. Thanks to everybody working on this one! -- Khazar2 (talk) 21:52, 21 July 2013 (UTC)
