Declination sign error?

edit

I am truly ignorant of such matters, but I keep seeing references to the declination starting with +14 . Shenme 08:02, 5 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

I left a note with Lee937 asking him to add references to his articles. The NASA/IPAC Extragalactic Database (NED) listed the declination as +14:13:03 (J2000). GeorgeJBendo 21:45, 9 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

GR 8 (galaxy) is likely discovered by Karl Wilhelm Reinmuth in 1916.

edit

I was looking at the Karl Wilhelm Reinmuth 1916 paper during revision of RAC (revising astronomical catalogs project) and Objects 16 and 18 in the Katalog's position actually matches GR 8, as seen in this PDF here: https://ngcicproject.observers.org/Historical_Record/Pothier/1916VeHei7-175_Reinmuth.pdf

I've converted Epochs from B1900 to J2000 and it clearly matches the two brighter objects in the galaxy. Snell1185 (talk) 02:54, 17 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
