Cartier

edit

A google search for Gaasyendietha and Cartier yields less than 50 results, most of which appear to be Wikipedia copy-paste, or quoting one another. The website that's quoted in the article (Moffat's) is of dubious trustworthyness, and contain at least one glaring mistake ("Lake Champlain in Pennsylvania", when Champlain is on the New York/Vermont/Quebec border). In addition, I've read a number of French language work that recount Cartier's assorted visits, based on his own relation, and I've browsed the actual relations, and have found no reports on this incident. In short, this whole thing has the stink of an internet rumor.--Guillaume Hébert-Jodoin (talk) 06:50, 27 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Ganyadjigowa

edit

I happened to come across the reference to Ganyadjigowa. He is described in some sources as a hero or hero/trickster, but unfortunately, like Gaasyendietha, he appears in exactly one tale that's findeable on the web. So much may have been lost; does anyone know of other sources for these two? Peter Flass (talk) 03:13, 25 December 2019 (UTC)Reply
